Computational Social Science

Computational Social Science combines traditional social science questions with modern computational methods. It is the field in which most of my academic work currently takes place. My research focuses on applying Natural Language Processing, data analysis and information extraction techniques to political communication and large-scale textual datasets. Rather than studying algorithms for their own sake, I am interested in how they can help answer meaningful questions about society. This interdisciplinary perspective strongly influences both my research projects and the software I develop.
